Vision
Over the next three years, we aim to become a scientific hub in the development of neuroscience knowledge and provision of research services at the regional and national levels by extending our scientific and research activities in the field of neurodegeneration. In addition, we hope to obtain the final approval of the center by 2022 by providing a safe and suitable research environment for students and researchers.
 
Mission
The Neuroscience Research Center of Golestan University of Medical Sciences has a mission to conduct basic and clinical research in order to train capable researchers in the field of neurosciences with emphasis on strengthening professional ethics. The center also aims to implement the current knowledge on medicinal plants and natural compounds affecting neurological diseases, such as Alzheimer's disease and Parkinson's disease to meet the health needs of the country and the region.
For this purpose, in a short period of time (one year), the annual operational plan, strategic plan and goals of the center have been predicted and determined based on quantitative and monitorable indices. Necessary changes can be made in the objectives and other parts of the plan through the processes approved by the Review Committee and the development of strategic plan for the Neuroscience Research Center.
 
 
Goals

• Conducting basic and clinical research and training students in working with various laboratory animals, behavioral tests, molecular methods, tissue staining and other specialized methods.

• Expanding the quantity and quality of research related to the mission of the center and promoting the local and national status of the center

• Applying current knowledge to investigate novel diagnostic and therapeutic methods for neurological disorders such as Alzheimer's disease

• Research on the production of medications of natural origin for treatment of neurological disorders

• Study on iron chelators in the treatment of Alzheimer's disease

• Cooperation in educating researchers in order to promote the scientific level of the university and the country

• Scientific collaboration and laboratory consultation on various researches related to the center
