Functions of the Committee:
1- Determination and prescription drugs in the coverage area
2- Providing feedback of drug prescription, usage and  prescribing patterns to medical group, pharmacies, health centers and hospitals
3- Providing solutions and recommendations for policy making and planning to the national committee
4- identifying weaknesses of prescribing and usage of drugs in the coverage area based on scientific and statistical methods, results of studied prescriptions and providing related solutions
5- Helping to design and implement programs developed by the National Committee in order to increase knowledge, attitude and Practice about prescription and drug usage in medical group and public by creating partnerships between different relevant units (Inside and outside the organization)
6- Conducting research and training surveys about drugs' administration and usage in the coverage area
7- Formulating guidelines for drug administration in the coverage area and monitoring their implementation
8-Monitoring and Implementation of drug and treatment committee's approvals in hospitals in the coverage area based on national Committee guidelines
9- Expertise and specialized committees on related issues
10- Preparation of committee's annual operating plan, estimating the required funding for the project and national Committee approval 
11- Provide regular and continuous reports to the national committee
