Department of Cultural and Extracurricular Affairs

These days in addition to training and research duties universities have new responsibilities in social and cultural areas including: improving culture and socialization. In other words although universities try to produce science, train specialists and effort for career prospects, but some beliefs, values and norms needed to be internalized within students which should also be in accordance with their future job environment. These behaviors and norms can't be achieved just in formal classes. With respect to mentioned functions and specific role of university in development of country, and with a glance on importance of culture and extracurricular activities as an informal training to attract talent, abilities and increasing useful experiences, the importance of Department of Cultural Affairs and Extracurricular becomes more and more evident.


Cultural and Extracurricular Department works in following fields:
1-    Planning, conducting and monitoring university's cultural activities. 
2-    Providing needed facilities for cultural activities development.
3-    Encouraging student to participate in cultural and artistic programs
4-    Communication and collaboration with cultural centers and organizations
5-    Studying, investigation and recognition of cultural problems, audience intellectual needs, context and causes of vulnerability and thinking about possible solutions
6-    Preparing needed facilities for signs of regional and national civilization introduction to university members and culture through visits.
7-    familiarizing and connecting the students to scientific and cultural organizations and scholars and organizations
8-    Creating appropriate context for selling student artistic and cultural works
9-    Supporting students' cultural and extracurricular activities.
10-    Constitution and supporting cultural and artistic clubs
11-    Holding various ceremonies and events
12-    Holding various programs and classes to fill students' leisure time such as: training classes, cultural and artistic competitions, camps, cultural and artistic exhibitions and festivals

cultural, artistic and social Centers' affairs:
This unit has 37 student clubs like Qur`an and Itrat, Hijab and Chastity, poetry, song, calligraphy, film and photograph, paintings and drawings, Red Crescent, Information technology, health behavior, sacrifice, Imam Ali, Pejvak and etc. aforementioned clubs have been shaped in campus and by students in order to create enabling environment for growth and development of student talents and abilities in cultural artistic and social fields.

Independent scientific associations' affairs:
These associations have been formed in order to promote scientific endeavor among students and supporting initiative research activities as well as directing capable students to gain scientific and cultural growth in the university.  Scientific associations of different majors have been established in department of cultural and extracurricular affairs. At present about 10 scientific associations are working to promote scientific level of students. They are as follows: Basic sciences, Clinical sciences, Nursing and Midwifery, Lab sciences, Anesthesia, Operating room, Family health, Environmental health and Disease fighting.

Extracurricular affairs: 
This unit is responsible for enriching students' spare time and has various programs in this regard:
1- Holding interprovincial camps weekly or on any occasions.
2- Holding exhibitions on book, photograph, artistic work
3- Holding cultural competitions for students and personnel
4- Organizing movie screening in university and student dormitories

Events and ceremonies affairs:
Approximately all of the activities are done in the university and student dormitories by students. These activities are including: national and regional ceremonies, celebrations, funerals, praying and praise, FAQ meetings, student meetings, night of poetry, literature review and many other activities in student clubs framework.

Islamic student association:
 This Islamic association has been formed in order to achieve ideals of Imam Khomeini and supreme leader to attain Islamic university, the following student organizations have been established in the framework of university’s laws and rules.


University student Basij: 

•    Basij site of Medicine school
•    Basij site of Nursing and Midwifery school
•    Basij site of Paramedical and Sanitation school


Islamic Association: 

•    Islamic Association of Medicine school
•    Islamic Association of Paramedical and Sanitation school
•    Islamic Association of Nursing and Midwifery school

Cultural room and dormitories' database: 

This unit has been established to fill dormitory student leisure time and improving their knowledge. Some of its activities are as follow:
•    Computer services such as: high speed internet, CD writing, typing, printing, etc.
•    Library services with the latest books in the fields of religious, cultural, social, psychology, advisory, etc.
•    Playing movies twice a week and sending student to cinemas.
•    Press services such as: local and national newspapers, scientific journals and magazine.
•    Cassette and CD bank and lending newest and cultural products to students.
•    Holding prayers like Komeyl, Nodbeh, Tavassol as well as holding ceremonies on national and religious occasions in dormitories
•    Training and presenting services by dormitory computer technician.
•    Correct advertising and informing through poster and cultural notifications that are presented by Department of Cultural Affairs and leisure of university.


Secretariat of the supervisory committee on academic journals:

•    Providing the related agenda
•    Proposing requests for publishing and review them in committee
•    Proposing received complaints about academic journals and quantitative and qualitative investigation on issues in committee.


Secretariat of the monitoring and supporting independent associations committee:

•    Collaboration with schools in order to create independent scientific association
•    Agenda of committee meetings
•    Reviewing requests and programs of scientific associations and proposing them in meeting
•    The decisions of committee will be conveyed to the members of “Research management of university, Department of cultural affairs, schools and teachers of scientific association
