Medicine Faculty Was Established in Gorgan city in 1992. This Faculty Promoted to Medicine University Complex Since 1994. In the first year with admission 37 medical students. During this time the number of student and courses were increased gradually. Currently, the faculty includes five educational departments including the departments of “Medical of Physiology, Medical Parasitology & Mycology, Medical Biochemistry and Biophysics, Anatomy, Pharmacology- toxicology and Persian Medicine, Medical of Microbiology, Health and Community Medicine and Medical of Immunology with students at MSC and PhD disciplines; as well as General practitioner and medical specialties majors consisting of Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, Pediatric, General Surgery, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Radiology, Infectious Diseases, Radiotherapy, Anesthesiology, Urology, Dermatology, Psychiatry, Psychology, Pathology, Ophthalmology, Orthopedics, Neurology, Physical Medicine, , Social Medicine, Cardiology, ENT.

About GOUMS School of Paramedicine
The establishment of Paramedicine School and also admission on two fields, Laboratory Sciences and General Health (Family Health), were recommended in 1374. That year the establishment of the two above-said fields was accepted by the expansion council and finally in the 1375, the establishment of Paramedicine School was accepted. In 1375 and after the establishment of Gorgan paramedicine school, the two fields. Operating room and aneasthesia were separated from Boyeh Nursing School and joined to Paramedicine School. Also, in 1379, Environmental health fields on associate's degree and in 1380 campaign against diseases fields were added to the school fields, too.
It is necessary to say that on Tir 1386, on the bases of university trustees' board enactment, Paramedicine School was renamed to Health and Paramedicine School. Now Health and Paramedicine School accept students on six fields: operating room, aneasthesia, Laboratory Sciences (full-time or part-time), Family Health (full-time or part-time), control of diseases and Environmental Health.

About GOUMS School of Advanced Medical Technologies
The School of Advanced Medical Technologies (SAMT) was established in 2010, considering the importance of modern technologies in the 20-year vision document of the country. The practical steps of SAMT establishment initiated with the assistance of faculty members of the School of Medicine and the cooperation of the University's deputy of education as well as the valuable support of the Minister of the Health in February 2009, when the first students of the Molecular Medicine Ph.D. program were admitted.
