Abstract

Abstract Background and objectives: Human T-Lymphocyte Virus-1 (HTLV- 1) is known as the etiologic factor of acute T-Lymphocytic Leukemia (ATL) and tropical spastic paralysis. (TSP). Endemic factors causing infection with Human T Lymphocyte Virus-1 (HTLV-1) is based on environmental, socio-economical and health behaviors of the individuals. This virus is well distributed in families with involved members. Golestan province is located in North West part of Northern Khorasan province that had already been known as an endemic area for HTLV-1. This virus is also known as the main etiologic factor for cancers and ATL, therefore we studied the prevalence of HTLV-1 seroepidemiology in Golestan province. Material and Methods: The subjects selected by cluster sampling were 2034 healthy cases residing in different parts of Golestan province. ELISA method using Dia- pro anti HTLV-1 antibody kits was applied for serological assessment. Western Blot (HTLV BLOT 2.4) was used for confirmation purposes. Results: The subjects aged 38.66±16.54 were 2034 healthy persons. Forty-one point seven of these cases were males and the rest females. Based on ELISA method there were15 HTLV-1 positive cases (0.7%). -1. (0.7%) Six out of 15 were confirmed by western blot method (95%, CI: 0.06-0.53%). The highest prevalence sigllificant) aiology is in the highat rate in 31-40 year old gro0.7%). onclusion: This study shows that HTLV-1 is prevalent in Golestan the same as the other parts of the world. There fere: we urse on performing screening test (HTLV-) on donated blood components before delivering (OK labeling). The highest prevalence was 2.6% seen in Kalaleh city (east part of the province) [95%, Cl: 0.06-0.53%). There was significant difference between the prevalence of HTLV-1 and the dwelling place. (p=002). HTLV-1 seroepidemiology was in the highest rate in 31-40 year old group (0.7%). Conclusion: This study shows that HTLV-1 is prevalent in Golestan province, the same as the other parts of the world. Therefore, we recommend performing screening test (HTLV-) on donated blood components before delivering (OK labeling). Abstract

Abstract Background and objectives: Dendritic Cells are the most important of antigen presenting cells with an effective role in immune tolerance. This study, aims to clarify the role of IFN- β in induction on dendritic cells derived by monocyte in diabetes type1 to evaluate the T cells response to beta cell specific antigenic molecule. Material and Methods: In this research, peripheral blood mononuclear cells were isolated by phiCole and then dendritic cells generated from blood monocytes ,in Seven days, by adding granulocyte-monocyte colony stimulating factor and interleukin-4 with or without IFN-beta. MRNA was extracted by dendritic cells and cDNA was produced by reverse transcriptase enzyme. Then, Specific polymerase chain reaction for HLA-G was performed. In addition, Tcell proliferation with a mixed Leukocytic reaction evaluated between dendritic cell and T by means of MTT. Results: based on the results, IFN-β induces HLA-G molecule on dendritic cells. In addition, T cell proliferation responses in mixed leukocyte culture show significance difference between Case and control p<0.05. T cell proliferation was inhibited in their co-culture system affected by IFN-β Conclusion: In this study, we show that dendritic cells-treated IFN-β with expression of HLA-G molecule inhibited T cell proliferation and so, our results suggest that some of the IFN- β regulatory effects with expression of HLA-G can probably prevent from beta cell destruction. Abstract

Abstract Background and objectives: Blood culture is a critical part of evaluation of Neonate suspected wath Septicaemia. This phenomenon is one of the most important causes of neonates in Neonatal. Material and Methods: This study was carried out on 1470 somples of neonates suspected with bacteraemia , using reutine microbiologicul technique. The samples wene assessed in hazrate Masoomeh hospilal of Kermansha,Iran. Results and Conclusions: of all samples, 112 (7.62%) ane pasitive. Most of the Positive cultures were obtained after 24 hours of incubation in broth mediu. we Confirmed this result by using diseriminafiue culture media the Isolated bacteria are Coagulase-negative Staphylococus(28.6%),Alfahymolylic Streptococus(0.09%), staphylococus aureus(10.7%),Klebseilla(6.2%),pseudomonas(12.5%),moraxella(0.9%),acin eto bacter(13.4%), Alcalingenes(13.4%),protenos(1.8%) and salmonela (0.9%). Conclusion: the frequency of Coagulase-negative Staphylococus Isolated from neonates Blood culture is more than the other micro organisms. Abstract

Abstract Background and objectives: In diabetic patients, infectious disease is one of the most important cause of admission, and sometimes a life threatening condition. The aim of this study was to determine the clinical features of infection in the hospitalized diabetic patients. Material and Methods: In This retrospective study, we evaluated the files of 122 diabetic patients aged over 20 years in 2004-2005. According to medical document coding, the data was collected by a checklist and then descriptive statistical analysis performed. Results: The subjects’ age is 57+11.76 years (23-83). The Mean time of diabetes diagnosis is 12.62+9.27 years. Sixty-six of them are male (54.5%).and the rest female. most of them (62.2%) were used oral hypoglycemic drugs on admission. Their median fasting blood sugar was 224mg/dl and 164mg/dl for the first and second measuring, respectively. The etiologies are soft tissue infection and diabetic foot ( 49.3%), sepsis(36%),pneumonia(5.7%),urinary infection(3.2%) and unknown(5.7%). None of diabetic foot patients was given specific education for taking care of their feet. Conclusion: in sixty -five percent of the subjects, fasting blood sugar was not in normal limit. Soft tissue infection and diabetic foot was the most infectious cause of admission. It seems that frequent control of blood sugar and foot- care related education can prevent from the most common cause of hospital admission in these patients. Abstract

Abstract Background and objectives: Coronary Artery Disease is one of the most important causes of death in the world. Atherosclerosis is a complex disorder and many factors cause it . In recent years , a relationship between infectious agents, particularly Chlamydia pneumonia, and atherosclerosis was found. This research was aimed at serological studying of Chlamydia pneumonia in the coronary artery patients and healthy ones. Material and Methods: We carried out this cross-Sectional study on 102 patients with CAD and 142 individuals without any history of CAD. The subjects were admitted to Dr. Beheshty hospital, Babol, from July 2005 to September 2006. The subjects’ serums were collected to detect specific anti Chlamydia pneumonia antibodies (IgA and IgG), using ELISA method. Data were analyzed by chi-square, using SPSS software. Results: The mean age of patients and healthy subjects were 60.6 and 43.7 years, respectively. Fifty-nine point eight percent of cases and 40.8% of healthy subjects are men. The results show that 45.1% of patients and 47.9% of healthy subjects have positive titer of IgG and negative titer of IgA (chronic). There is no significant correlation between patient and healthy groups (P=O.698). Also 88.2% of patients and 81% of healthy group have positive titer of anti Chlamydia pneumonia antibody (IgG). Conclusion: In spite of high titer of IgG, there is no significant relationship between Chlamydia pneumonia and atherosclerosis. It seems that further experiments are necessary to prove the relationship between Chlamydia and atherosclerosis. Key words: Atherosclerosis, Chlamydia pneumonia, IgA, IgG

Abstract

Abstract Background and objectives: Beta-lactamase enzymes are the most causes of resistance to antibiotics among gram-negative bacteria. Nowadays, Infections due to ESBLs are being increased throughout the world and is considered as a new burden to the health systems. This study aimed at determining the sensitivity pattern of E.coli isolates to beta-lactam antibiotics, and investigating the presence of blaCTX-M, blaTEM, and blaSHV genes in the urine samples. . Material and Methods: In this study, 244 E.coli isolates were screened in 2009-2010. The antibiotic susceptibility of E. coli isolates were determined by disc-diffusion method. Antimicrobial agents tested were cefoxatime, ceftazidime, imipenem, nalidixic acid, and ciprofloxacin. The combined disc test was used to confirm the results. The results were compared to the Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute (CLSI) and ESBL positive isolates were further investigated for the presence of blaCTX-M, blaTEM, and blaSHV genes by PCR. Results: Of 244 E. coli isolates, 116 (47.1%) are resistant to Ceftazidime, and 96 (39.2%) to cefoxatime. Also, 109 (44.3%) isolates are ESBL positive. blaCTX-M, blaTEM, and blaSHV genes are found among 95 (87.1%), 75 (68.8%), and 77 (70.6%) ESBL positive isolates, respectively. Forty (36.6%) isolates have all three genes, while 68 (62.3%) include blaTEM and blaSHV genes. Moreover, 61 (55.9%) isolates carry blaCTX-M and blaTEM genes, and 54(49.5%) have blactx-M and blashv. Conclusion: Regarding the high frequency of resistance to the third generation cephalosporin antibiotics, precise antibiogram testing is highly recommended before any antibiotic prescription in cases of infections with ESBL producing microorganisms. Abstract

Abstract Bachground and objectives:Streptomyces is the most important genus in Actinomycetes family.The Streptomycetes are widely used in industry producing numerous chemical compounds including antibiotics, enzymes and anti- tumor agents. The aim of this study was to isolate soil-borne Streptomyces producing antimicrobial substances from soil of Golestan province of Iran and to survey anti-fungal metabolities produced by this organism. Material and Methods:In this study various soil samples were collected: ( forest areas of Naharkhoran in Gorgan and Kordkuy’s Derazno, Aghala’s deserts and agriculture lands of Aliabad ) were cultured on Actinomycet isolation agar and Starch casein agar were identified and purified by morphology and biochemistry tests. The activity of isolated Streptomyses against:Aspergillus flavus, Aspergillus, Candida albicans and Malasesia fur fur were studied by Agar Diffusion. Results:Of 120 samples, 24 are Streptomyces(20%) .The frequency of Streptomyces are reported in Aghala (10,41.6%),Derzno (8,33.3%) ,Nahar khoran(4,16.6%) and Aliabad(2,8.3%).Of 24 isolated Sterptomyses,two isolates have strong anti-fungal and six of them have moderate effect.We also see Streptomyses,isolated from desert area, have higher anti-fungal activity. Conclusion:It is recommended two isolated of Streptomyses be identified ana purified. Key words:Streptomyces , antifungal activities, antibiotic

Abstract

Abstract Background and objectives: Genital tract infections are among the most common causes of patients referred to therapeutic centers. Nearly 75% of women suffer from genital Candida infection, at least once in their lifetime. The aim of present study was detection of Candida species causing vaginitis and the evaluation of antimycotic effects of ketoconazol, clotrimazole and fluconazole against Candida species. Material and Methods: In this study, 210 vaginal samples were obtained from the patients suspected of Vaginal Candidiasis. Direct examination and culture were carried out for all specimens to detect the yeast. The isolated yeast species were then identified, using various different tests such as culture on corn meal agar, tween-80, germ tube test, and assimilation test by API 20C kit by using Sabouraud Dextrose Agar and microdilution broth, MIC90 and MIC50 of drug were measured and determined their drug resistance. Results: In the present study, 100 yeast colonies were isolated from patients %80 are C. albicans and the rest are C. parapsilosis(2%), C. tropicalis(6%), C. glabrata(4%), C. krusei(2%), C. guilliermondii (3%), C.stellatoidea(3%). In terms of drug resistance test MIC50 and MIC90 of fluconazole for candida albicans are 5.33 and 35.27μg/ ml, respectively, and for non-albicans candida are 3 and 21.4μg/ml, respectively. Clotrimazole MIC for Candida albicans (MIC50, MIC90) 0.97 and 4.9μg/ml, respectively, and for non-albicans 0.63 and 3.4/ml, respectively. Kectoconazole MIC for Candida albicans 2.43 and 16.45μg/ml, respectively, and for non-albicans 1.12 and 6.6μg/ml, respectively. Conclusion: Clotrimazole has been better than the two other drugs for Candida species on the whole, non albicans species are more sensitive than albicans species in the presence of the drugs used in this study. Abstract

Abstract Background and objectives: Microbial, physical and chemical properties of drinking water, considering type and quantity of the drinking water, are the factors for determining the acceptability of water. The effect of each of the above components on increasing the quality of water or threatening the health of consumers is also considerable. We aimed to investigate the trace amounts of microbial, physical and chemical parameters of drinking water in Gorgan, comparing to national and international standard. Material and Methods: In this cross sectional study, 50 samples were taken, per month, from four pilot stations in urban water network of Gorgan during one year (2009- 2010). We used instant sampling and performed Enumeration of Coliforms in water culture with most probable number (MPN).Samples taken from the stations during the month were investigated in two general categories of device test and heading-meter. All experiments were performed using standard reference method. Results: of 598 water samples 551 (92.2%) have not Coliforms, 47 (7.8%) contain Coliforms and 16 (2.7%) of them have thermo-tolerant Coliforms. Mean water hardness is 413mg/L, base on carbonate calcium. The amount of fluoride about 0.35 mg and the residual chlorine about 0.6 mg is less than national standard amount. Conclusion: The results show that Gorgan water network is, in view of microbial contamination, safe during almost all days. All the tested samples in terms of physical and chemical parameters are in the range of nation and international standards. Hardness of drinking water of Gorgan is one of the highest. Abstract

Abstract Background and objectives: Interferon-Gamma and interferon Gamma receptor (IFNγ ⁄ IFNγR1) are the main genes associated with susceptibility to tuberculosis. We aimed at studying on interferon-Gamma Gene polymorphism(- 56 C/T) in people suffered from tuberculosis (TB). Material and Methods: In this case-control study, the subjects were 62 individuals with TB and 74 healthy ones. Genomic DNA was extracted by DNA isolation kit(Roche Corporation), and genotype identification was performed by polymerase chain reaction-Restriction fragment length polymorphism (PCR-RFLP). Chi square and logistic regression, using SPSS soft ware (version 18), was used to compare genotype and alleles between case and control groups. Results: The frequency of TT genotype in tuberculosis patients and healthy person are 43.5% and 17.5%, respectively. Based on Logistic regression (odd ration 0.148, p=0.0006), there is significant difference between Case and Control. In addition, the frequency of T allele is, in case group, 62.09 % the difference between case and control is significant, based on Logistic regression (odd ratio: 0.418, P=0.028). Conclusion: It is implied that -56C/T is associated with IFNγR1 promoter in tuberculosis patient. It is found to be associated with increased susceptibility to tuberculosis. Abstract

Abstract Background and objectives: Helicobacter pylori is a Gram- negative bacteria causing diseases such as peptic ulcer and gastric cancer. In this research ,we determined the level of three types of antibody IgG, IgM and IgA in ordinary people of Izeh. Material and Methods: After collecting blood samples from 263 cases, the serum were obtaind and using the ELISA method the amount of IgG, IgM and IgA, against Helicobacter pylori measured. Results: Eleven samples(4.3%) out of 263 casese are positive for IgM anti-Helicobacter pylori. The frequency of IgA and IgG is 28(10.6%) and 201(76.4%),respectively. Conclusion: Based on results more than 70% of people in Izeh have Anti- Helicobacter pylori antibody in their serum, which is higher than that the other studied in Iran and also than developed countries. Abstract

Abstract Background and objectives: Bile in healthy people is a sterile fluid and presence of any microorganism can be a marker for a disorder like cholelithiasis. The aim of this study was to determine the frequency of bacterial agents in the bile of patients with bilestone, malignant pancreatic and biliary diseases. Material and Methods: One hundred and two bile samples were obtained, during six months in 2011, from patients subjected to ERCP in Taleghani hospital, Tehran. First, Patient's clinical data, the type stone, and their disease status were studied, and then the microbiological investigations, such as culture, identification of the bacteria and detection of their counts, drug susceptibility testing and molecular tests (16s rDNA PCR) performed on all the samples. Higher than 103 bacteria counts for each sample, in the absence of underlying infections, was considered as stable colonization. We run SPSS version 13 to analyze the data. Results: Out of 42(41.1%) positive bile culture samples, 59 bacterial isolates are detected by conventional methods. Of culture negative samples, seven have bacterial DNA indicated by PCR method. The most isolated bacteria are E. coli (%34.4), Enterococcus spp. (%19.7), Klebsiella pneumoniae (%18) and Pseudomonas aeruginos (18%). The most frequent stones are cholesterol, black pigment and brown pigment, respectively. There is no significant association between the diseases, stones and types of bacteria. Previous antibiotic usage (44.6%) is meaningfully more than that of other biliary problems (p=0.01) Conclusion: The presence of bacteria, Escherchi coli and Entrococcus which are the most in bile samples, is considered as a risk factor in pathogenesis of biliary disorders. Further studies on the pathogenesis and pathophysiological effects of bacteria can help us to clarify the role of bacteria in producing bile stones. Abstract

Abstract Background and objectives: The increase of ESBL producing E.coli can create a tremendous difficult y for the health system. These isolates leads to rapid transmission of causative genes to other clinically important bacteria and synchronously increased resistant to other antibiotics. This study was carried out to determine the prevalence of this isolate and related genes in Gorgan, North of Iran. Material and Methods: This study was conducted on 218 isolated E.coli from urinary tract infection of outpatients referring to six medical laboratories in Gorgan, during 2010-11. The resistance to Cefotaxim (Mast Co.) was assessed by Kirby-Bauer disk diffusion method. The confirmatory test for detection of resistant isolates was carried out by double disk method at the presence of Cefotaxim and clavulanic acid. The presence of β lactamase gene of blatem, blactx and blashv in ESBL was assessed by PCR method. Results: of 218, 70 isolates (32.1%) are resistant to Cefotaxim. Sixty-two (88.6%) of them are confirmed as ESBL producing E.coli. β lactamase genes of blactx, blatem and blashv can be seen in 28(45.2%), 26(41.9%) and 6(9.7%) isolates, respectively. Conclusion: the prevalence of ESBL producing E.coli in Gorgan is in the range of country average and blaCTX-M gene is the most common gene. Key words: E.coli, ESBL, bla gene, UTI

Abstract

Abstract Background and objectives: Giardiasis is a parasitic infection of small intestine, with a worldwide distribution and the prevalence of Giardia in different parts of the world varies between 1 to 25%. Plants have the vast range of antimicrobial and antifungal activity that can be identified as alternative treatments for bacterial and parasitic pathogens, the same as Giardia. In this study, the methanol extracts of eucalyptus plants, Satureia hortensis and Heracleum glabrescens, on Giardia cysts were studied in vitro. Material and Methods: The cysts were isolated from the feces using a modified Bingham. After counting by Hemusytumetr, they were placed near by 200 mg / ml, 100 mg / ml and 10 mg / ml of the extracts prepared by DMSO for 30 and 60 minutes. Then, the number of dead and live cysts was counted under a microscope. Results: the fatality effect of the extracts in 60 minutes is higher than those of 30 minutes. The methanol extracts of Satureia hortensis, Eucalyptus and Heracleum glabrescens with the dilution of 200 mg/ml in 60 mins have the fatality effect of 84/3%, 63/3% and 44%, respectively. The highest fatality(84.3%) on Giardia cysts is related to Satureia hortensis with the dilution of 200 mg/ml in 60 mins and the Lowest(27%) is related to Heracleum glabrescens with the dilution of 10 mg/ml in 30-minute period. The significant relationship between the plant type and the fatality of methanol extracts is observed. Conclusion: the methanol extracts of Eucalyptus, Heracleum glabrescens and especially Satureia hortensis have anti-parasitic effects in the laboratory conditions. Abstract

Abstract Background and Objectives: Concurrent with the development of new chemical drugs and antibiotics, their harmful effects are gradually emerged. Due to lack of harmful effects, herbal medicines have been used in the pharmaceutical industry. The aim of this study was the use of lavender essential oil as an herbal medicine for the replacement of antibiotics and chemicals. Material and Methods: In this study, the plant essential oil was isolated by drying and distillation method using Clevenger apparatus. The antibacterial effect of this plant was evaluated by using disc diffusion method and successive dilutions. In order to control the standard of the method, antibiotic discs and standard bacterial strains were used. Results: Based on the results, Proteus mirabilis and Enterococcus faecalis are , respectively , the most sensitive and most resistant bacteria to dilutions of 1, 1/2 and 1/4. Escherichia coli and Enterococcus faecalis, respectively, are the most sensitive and most resistant bacteria to the dilution of 1/8, 1/16, 1/32 and 1/64. MIC and MBC methods also show that all bacteria have the same minimum inhibitory and fatality concentrations except Enterococcus faecalis with minimum inhibitory concentration of 16/1 and minimum concentration fatality of 8/1. Evaluating the results of the disk diffusion method with antibiotic discs, we can observe the better effect of this plant in comparison with gentamicin and streptomycin discs on the growth of five strains of Staphylococcus aureus ATCC1885, Staphylococcus epidermidis ATCC 2405, Enterococcus faecalis ATCC2321, Escherichia coli ATCC 1652 and Proteus mirabilis ATCC 2601. Abstract

Abstract Background and Objective:Staphylococcusaureus is one of the important factors causing nosocomial infections. Typically 25-30 percent of healthy people carry the bacteria in their anterior nasal cavity. The physicians(50%), nurses (70%) and hospital staff (90%) are the carriers of this bacteria, leading to the infection of inpatients. The emergence of antibiotic-resistant Staphylococcus strains to vancomycin and methicillin has brought about several problems in treatment of the infections caused by Staphylococcus strains. Hence, we aimed to study the frequency of staphylococcus aureus carriers and resistance pattern among medical personnel of the surgical ward in ShahidRajaee hospital, Tonekabon. Material and Methods: this analytic-descriptive study was conducted on the samples taken from nasal carriage of medical staff of surgical ward (N=120). Antibiotic- resistant of Staphylococcus strains was assessed by antibiogram and disk diffusion (DAD), in accordance with CLSI standards. Results: of 34 (28.33%) who are nasal carriers of staphylococcus, 12 are over 30 years old and 24 under 30. Based on antibiogram, 1.97% of specimens are sensitive to Gentamicin and Co-trimoxazole, 1.94% to Ciprofloxacin, 2.88% to Vancomycin and 6.20% to Methicillin. In addition, 100% of specimens are resistant to Ampicillin, 1.97% to Penicillin and 2.88% to Amoxicillin. Four isolates areresistant,both to methicillin and vancomycin. Conclusion:In this study, the spectrum of S. aureus resistant and sensitive strains to some antibiotics is similar to other studies, but a dramatic increase is seen in the rate of MRSA and non-susceptible cases to vancomycin. The Effectiveness of Penicillin, Amoxicillin and Ampicillin is still very low on S. aureus samples. Abstract

Abstract Background and Objective: Nowadays, downsizing the government to have an effective and flexible organization is considered to be government’s top priority in the world and outsourcing is one of the ways to achieve this goal. Accordingly, Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences has delegated some of its hospitals' duties to the private sectors. The present study has been carried out to assess the performance of outsourced clinical laboratories. Material and Methods: This Descriptive Evaluation study was carried out during 6 month (May 2011 till February 2012). The data was collected by two questionnaires with close-ended questions and one with open-ended questions, and analyzed by Wilcoxon, using SPSS software. Results: There is an improvement in outsourcing laboratory services. For example, increase in the number of tests (32%) and in the type of tests (37%). Consequently, increase of hospital income (51%). The number of personnel is decreased and their responsibility and behavior are improved. Conclusion: Overall, it seems that outsourcing laboratory program could achieve its major goals such as: Absorbing non-governmental resources in both administrative and financial aspects, omitting extra expenditure, acquiring benefits, and upgrading productivity of laboratories. Abstract

Abstract Background and Objective: Diabetes mellitus is one of complications that thalassemia major patients face with. Hence, blood glucose monitoring is of vital importance to these patients. Because of high level of fetal hemoglobin in these patients, the measurement of hemoglobin A1c is not reliable and should be displaced by fructosamine test. Material and Methods: The current descriptive study was carried out on 33 beta-thalassemia major patients afflicted with diabetes mellitus (21 female and 12 male cases). Blood glucose level, fructosamine, hemoglobin A1c, serum ferritin and fetal hemoglobin were measured. Results: Blood glucose levels are 204±103 mg/dL and 221±101 mg/dL (p=0.63) fetal hemoglobin levels are 9%±7% and 13%±9% (p=0.22) serum ferritin levels are 1744±1534 ng/mL and 3253±1773 ng/mL (p=0.96) in female and male patients, respectively. The level of fructosamine (42±124 mmol/L) and glycosylated hemoglobin (8.9%±1.8%) are correlated significantly (r=0.69, p<0.01). Both Hemoglobin A1c (r=0.75, p<0.01) and fructosamine (r=0.54, p<0/01) show a significant correlation with blood glucose level. Conclusion: In diabetic thalassemia major patients with frequent blood transfusion, the level of fructosamine and glycosylated hemoglobin are related significantly, therefore they can be used alternatively. Abstract

Abstract Background and Objective: One of the most common diseases of keratin tissues is dermatophytosis caused by dermatophyte fungi. Because of being contagious, it has a high prevalence rate in wrestling and body building gyms. This study was designed to evaluate the process of this disease and improve the hygiene of halls. Material and Methods: The Samples (N= 540) were obtained from athletes and gyms, and a questionnaire was used to gather information. To identify various specious of dermatophyte, the routine diagnostic procedures, culture media, and supplementary tests were performed. Results: Of samples taken from athletes, 59 wrestlers and 11 body builders suffer from dermatophytosis. Trichophytontonsurans (%28.81) and Epidermophytonfloccosum (%36.36) are the main isolates in wrestlers and body builders. Also the rate of epidermophytonfloccosum (%37.5) is the highest in the samples taken from gym mats and halls. Conclusion: Because of high prevalence of dermatophytosis, pay attention to increase of hygiene and training courses for coaches and athletes are crucially important. Abstract

Abstract Background and Objective: Recognizing and using of isolated phytase in the soil microorganisms are paramount importance to produce the Phytase enzyme utilized commercially in different industries. This study was conducted to recognize different bacillus species which are Phytase producers and detection of the gene that can produce this enzyme. Material and Methods: Soil samples were gathered through different parts of mountainous areas. The early isolation of bacillus was carried out in Bacillus Medium Agar. After isolating the bacteria and genome extraction, the responsible gene of enzyme producer recognized and amplified by PCR method. The size of this protein and the optimal production situation in supplemental exploitation such as SDS-PAGE and the enzymatic activity of its size were evaluated. Results: Of 40 samples, one bacterium secreting Phytase enzyme was isolated. This bacterium was sequenced and recognized Bacillus Sobtlis species that is classified in STR Genus. The size of protein phytase produced by this gene was about 45 KD and the enzyme activity at 55 degrees was measured about 5.65 in wavelength of 415 NM. The phytase gene with the size of 1200 bp was propagated. Conclusion: the microorganisms, in natural conditions, produce Phytase enzyme in limited amount and with the quality appropriate to microorganisms.
